LEARNING BLOCK – Dominating Possession | FOCUS – 2v2 Games
TECHNICAL CHALLENGE – Can you pass forwards to attack? | PHYSICAL CHALLENGE – Can you find gaps and spaces to receive the ball in-between the defenders?
WHY? – TECHNICAL | 2v2 games sets a really positive learning environment for the players as they are encouraged to make their own choices within a smaller game scenario. During this session, forward and positive play linked in with our ‘Dominating Possession’ learning block and allowed our players to attempt successful forward passes to a team mate. When players are on the ball, we want to encourage them to forward pass or dribble quickly so we can attack successfully as part of a team.
WHY? – PHYSICAL | When teams are attempting to ‘Dominate Possession’, the players off the ball looking to receive are just as important as the player on the ball and when playing 2v2 games, the importance is on the receiver to help their team mate in possession. Therefore, we challenged the receivers to find gaps and spaces in-between defenders to help their partner and successfully exploit spaces behind the opponents.
TOP LEARNERS | Well done to our Top Learners below who have impressed us with their learning, these include players from Berkshire Futsal Club.
